Chances are if you’ve reached this page, you’re probably already sold on the value of volunteerism.  What you may not know is that being a volunteer with Rebuilding Together could be one of the most rewarding and beneficial experiences of your life.

Volunteers are the core component of the services that Rebuilding Together provides in the Houston community. Much of the work we do wouldn’t be possible without the involvement, commitment and passion of men and women interested in changing the lives of people in need.

Our volunteers get their hands dirty, literally. Frequently, their clothes might be paint-splashed, their hands could be calloused, and their shoulders, backs or knees a little sore from the labor of the day.

Truly, though, it’s a labor of love.

Few are the volunteer opportunities where, at the end of a single day, individuals can see the tangible results of the investment of their time and talent. Fewer still are the organizations which directly impact people in need at the place they call home. And no other organization can do so much in such a relative small amount of time to enhance the qualify of life and the dignity of those who are less fortunate.

There are many reasons to consider becoming a Rebuilding Together volunteer. Some have to do with the satisfaction which comes from doing work with your hands. Others involve the feelings of gratification that one’s efforts to help others make a real difference.
