8.07.06: Leah's Birthday
Gift
Leah Hammann is
a very special young lady.
On February 25, 2006, Leah
had a birthday party to celebrate her 10th
year. In lieu of receiving any gifts, Leah
asked all of her friends to please make a
donation to the Pujols Family Foundation on
her behalf. Leah has Down syndrome and thought
the PFF would be a great way to help others
and build awareness for others just like her.
Leah's mother called Todd Perry
and asked for some PFF brochures to send out
with Leah's invitations. "Leah and her
sister have everything they need. This was
Leah's idea not to accept gifts for her birthday,
but instead give to the Foundation,"
said Ms. Hammann.
Leah and her friends raised
$554.00 for the Pujols Family Foundation!
"I want people to know
Leah's story," said Ann Hammann. "I
want others to see her generosity and be inspired
to do the same."
