Meet
Pat Hanon
Patrick
Hanon has been a lifelong
restaurateur. He got his
start in the restaurant
business in 1960 at the
age of 14 when he took
a job bussing tables at
Henricis. He then
moved up the ranks from
cooks helper at
the venerable Cheshire
Inn to General Manager.
Hanon left that position
in 1971 to be designated
Food and Beverage Director
at Henry VIII, an innovative
and new St. Louis dining
establishment. During
his tenure at Henry VIII,
the restaurant earned
the Mobil Four Star rating
along with the coveted
Holiday Award (1978).
Simultaneously, Mr. Hanon
became a well-known figure
on the St. Louis restaurant
scene.
In
1983, Hanon partnered
with his friend and restaurateur
Ramon Gallardo to open
Patricks at Westport.
Since that time, he has
opened up various, family-oriented
concept restaurants, including
the landmark Bevo Mill
(1986) and Joe Hanons
Restaurant and Banquet
facility (1988). In 1989,
along with Gallardo and
St. Louis Cardinals Hall
of Famer Ozzie Smith,
Hanon launched Ozzie's
Restaurant and Sports
Bar. In 2006, Hanon teamed
with St. Louis Cardinals
Most Valuable Player Albert
Pujols and his wife, Deidre,
to convert the Patrick's
at Westport location into
Pujols 5 Grill.
Adding
a new dimension to his
involvement in the hospitality
field, Pat Hanon, his
brother Joe, and Peter
Zes purchased a 200 room
Radisson Hotel in Clayton,
Missouri in 1989. Located
in the prestigious suburban
area of Clayton, Missouri,
the hotel has been completely
refurbished and expanded
to 260 rooms. It was re-branded
to the Crowne Plaza in
Clayton and in 2007 saw
the launch of yet another
Hanon restaurant, The
Plaza Grill.
A native
St. Louisan, Pat Hanon
graduated from St. Louis
University in 1969. He
and his wife Joanne, who
reside in Chesterfield,
are the parents of: Patrick,
Jr., David Hanon, Kathe
DeGrand, and Paul Hanon
who resides in Los Angeles.
In his spare time, Pat
enjoys his 5 grandchildren,
tennis, reading, dining,
and spectator sports.
