Dear Constituents and Supporters:

Let me take a moment to thank each of you for allowing me to continue serving as your U.S. Representative. Your votes, financial support and hundreds of volunteer hours were critical to this effort, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

On Tuesday, November 7th, 2006 voters around the United States voted for change. Voters from Virginia to Montana to California decided that our country needed a change. The citizens of the United States have decided that Democrats offer true alternatives and fresh ideas to the mantra of 'Stay the Course.'

The founding fathers designed our government to be both strong and responsible. Checks and balances are designed to ensure that minority views are protected and that every citizen has an equal opportunity to realize the American dream. I look forward to working with the new Democratic majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate to take our country in a new direction.

I am committed to investing in the future of our great nation, and my family and I deeply appreciate your continued trust in my leadership.

Sincerely,

Russ Carnahan
U.S. Representative
