Whether
you are on your way to American
Players Theater or a day trip
to Taliesin in Spring Green,
the largest and very best
menu selection is at David
W. Heiney's Dining & Spirits.
We specialize in keeping the
"sound down" so
our guests can enjoy an atmosphere
both calming and conducive
to the fine art of dinner
conversation. Admittedly,
we're Packers and Badgers
fans, so, on game day, we'll
have the game on, but the
sound turned down!
When it comes
to food, what you eat at Heiney's
we often grow or purchase
from local growers. We start
planting our garden at the
back of the restaurant beginning
in April. In fact, during
the spring, summer and fall
we invite our guests to take
a stroll to our garden and
see where your salads are
grown!
At Heiney's,
we love groups and special
occasions. We can create special
menus designed to please every
palate and pocketbook. Think
of us the next time you're
planning a get together of
family or friends. We can
meet all your needs with our
special brand of home-cooked
goodness and a top-notch service.
David W. Heiney's
is owned by Scott and Maxine Patchin, who purchased
the restaurant in August of 1994. "We're
very proud that the restaurant is looked upon
as a wonderful dining option by visitors and
locals," Scott Patchin said. "We try
to create a good working family environment
for our employees, and in turn, they provide
excellent care to our customers."
The historic restaurant was
at one time a turn-of-the-century meat market.
Today David W. Heiney's has a full service cocktail
lounge, and three unique dining areas. The restaurant
features traditional American cuisine with high
quality steaks and seafood, though Patchin puts
a Louisiana-style touch to many of his traditional
dishes.
"I spent six years
as a chef and manager of a couple different
themed restaurants in Houston, Texas in the
early 1980's, and I really got turned on to
the Creole/Cajun culture and some of the cooking
methods down there."
