The
J. D. McCarty Center is a state agency and a 501(c)(3)
not-for-profit pediatric rehab hospital. We are
unique as a state agency in that we earn 86% of
our annual operating budget from our fees-for-service.
The remainder of our budget comes from a combination
of state funds, grants, fundraising events and
donations.
Grants, fundraising and
donations help the McCarty Center provide items
for the children we serve that are important
to their care and treatment but are unable to
be purchased because of budget restraints.
Donations come in two forms--financial
and in-kind. Financial donations are always
welcome, and are tax deductible. In-kind donation
items are also welcome and can be tax deductible.
In-Kind Donation Criteria
Our basic criteria for in-kind donations
is that the items be new or gently used and
in good working order. The McCarty Center does
not have the staff or facilities to accept items
that are in need of repair.
Examples of general categories
and criteria for in-kind donations include:
Clothing - new or gently used. Laundered, folded
or on hangers
Electronics - complete and in good working order
Toys and games - complete with all the pieces
and in good working order
Movies - DVD format only. Rated G or PG
No new or used stuff animals
will be accepted because of allergy and infection
control issues.
If you are interested in
making an in-kind donation to the McCarty Center,
call 405.307.2800 to find out more information
about our current needs.
In-kind donations are accepted
Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m.
Donors will be asked to
complete a donor information card when the donation
is made, so a tax receipt may be sent to them.
