YOUNG AMBASSADORS OF SEARCH HOMELESS SERVICES
KICK OFF ITS FIRST ANNUAL HOUSTON SLEEPOUT
GROUP WILL RAISE MONEY AND AWARENESS FOR HOUSTON'S
HOMELESS
On Saturday, November 15, 2008, SEARCH Homeless
Services' Young Ambassadors group will kick-off
National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week
with the first annual Houston SleepOut. This event
is designed to raise awareness and funds to address
the critical problem of Homelessness in Houston.
More than 500 individuals are expected to spend
the night in Sesquicentennial Park, located in downtown
Houston, in support of the struggle of the homeless.
Participants may SleepOut as individuals or in teams
and must raise a minimum of $100 to SleepOut. The
$100 may be paid by the participant or acquired
through sponsorships from friends, family, and community
members donating money on their behalf. Corporate
sponsorships are also available for SleepOut Houston.
Houston SleepOut's proceeds will be donated to the
Mobile Outreach Unit of SEARCH's Homeless Services.
WHAT:
Spend the night at Sesquicentennial Park. Food will
be provided, as well as a Faces of Homelessness
program featuring individuals who have overcome
homelessness during their lives. All proceeds benefit
SEARCH Homeless Services.

SleepOut: 7 p.m. November 15th to 7 a.m. November
16th
Event program: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Lights out at 10:30
p.m.

nonprofit organization whose mission is providing
hope, creating opportunity and transforming lives.
SEARCH serves more than 10,000 homeless people annually,
providing them with the tools to work and achieve
self sufficiency. SEARCH relies on the support of
corporate donors to provide this unique event to
the community and raise funds for its programs and
