S. Scott Nelson-Archer graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He then entered into the insurance and financial services field with a local firm in The Woodlands, Texas. From there, he started his own firm, M.D. Financial Services in 1995, moving the headquarters to Houston in 1998. Subsequently, Scott founded M. D. Disability Insurance Services to focus solely on securing "True Own Specialty" disability Insurance for physician clientele.

From the outset, Scott and his team at M.D. Disability Insurance Services have provided exclusive disability benefits to physicians, while offering true "own occupation/own specialty" disability insurance. The company and its affiliates have helped more than 10,000 doctors around the country obtain the disability insurance plan that is right for their personal needs, the needs of their practices and the needs of their families.

As a result of outstanding service to its clients and high customer-satisfaction marks, M.D. Disability Insurance Services has entered into a number of exclusive marketing agreements with county, state and even national associations. M.D. Disability Insurance Services has been recognized as one of the top producing groups in the nation specializing in disability insurance for doctors.

Scott also is a perennial industry leader in providing coverage through a host of companies. Scott has earned both his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations, which are significant and valued in the financial and insurance industries.

Scott is married to, Colleen, a native of Buffalo, NY, and they have two children, Leah, age 6, and, Braeden, age 3. The Nelson-Archers enjoy the outdoors, spending a good deal of time in the Colorado Rockies, camping, hiking, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and skiing.
