Greatness runs in the Wilkinson family. Jay’s father, Bud Wilkinson, was one of the greatest coaches in college football history. His Oklahoma University team’s won three national championships and at one time captured 47 straight victories, a record that remains untouched and a mark that symbolizes the pinnacle of achievement in sport.

Bud Wilkinson’s leadership abilities were highly sought away from athletic fields of endeavor by world-renowned figures in every walk of life, including two U.S. presidents…on both sides of the political aisle.

But above all things, Bud Wilkinson was a caring father and it was his letters to Jay while his son attended college at Duke University that prepared the son to achieve greatness in his own life.
