Our Mission: to Honor a Friend and Hero
On April 5, 2011, the Cities of Seabrook and
El Lago, Texas, passed a proclamation citing the bravery and
heroism of Valerij Alyohin. His efforts to alert people to
a pre-dawn fire at his apartment complex saved numerous lives.
In the process, he suffered burns which ultimately cost him
his life.
The Cities of Seabrook and El Lago also have
passed resolutions seeking to create a memorial to Val as
a means of remembering and commemorating his extraordinary
actions. A group of grateful citizens and community leaders
are working together to bring realization to that worthwhile
endeavor.
Our mission is to pay tribute to our friend
and hero Val Alyohin and to enable others in the community
to participate in that process.
