Field Features Top Houston Talent at Houston Pro Tennis Classic 2004 Five Houston women have been awarded wild card entries into the $10,000 Houston Pro Tennis Classic, presented by Encore Bank, which runs through Sunday, May 30, at the Downtown Club at The Met. Laura Ritchey-Thomas, ranked No. 2 in the nation in women's 30 singles, and Lauren Lui, nationally ranked junior, received direct entry into the tournament's main singes draw. University of Houston Miranda Foley enters the singles qualifying draw, while fellow Cougars Julie Thu and Blair DiSesa will compete in the doubles qualifier. The tourney, a $10,000 USTA Pro Circuit event and the only professional women's tennis tournament in the Houston area, features players from throughout the world competing for computer ranking points and prize money. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Linda Lorelle Scholarship Fund. Today's news Nationally-ranked junior Lauren Lui of Houston will compete in the Houston Pro Tennis Classic.
