Memorial Park
Conservancy is engaged in a wide range of activities
to preserve the park's native habitat, and at
the same time, ensure the enjoyment of Memorial
Park by the public. The Conservancy's 30-member
volunteer Board of Directors works in partnership
with the City of Houston Parks and Recreation
Department, Houston Parks Board and other organizations.
Houston City Council approved the park's Master
Plan in 2004. The Conservancy is working to
make the Master Plan a reality through fund
raising, education programs and volunteer activities.

Executive
Director - Sally Tyler
Sally Tyler joined Memorial Park
Conservancy in September, 2006. Her advancement
career spans 25 years and recently included
four years with Houston |
Audubon Society
as Director of Development for one of the
largest chapters in the United States. Her
experience includes initializing endowments,
completing $3 million capital campaign for
the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center
to triple the size of and renovate the nature
center building, $11 million capital campaign
for the Children's Museum of Houston, $7
million capital campaign for St. Agnes Academy,
and participating in the $500 million for
Rice University. She has also managed special
events for the University of Texas M.D.
Anderson Cancer Center, including unique
flood recovery efforts following tropical
storm Allison, and fundraising efforts for
the Society for the Performing Arts. She
is an active member of the Association of
Fundraising Professionals and volunteers
with several organizations.

Development
Director - Janice Adamson
Janice joined Memorial Park Conservancy
in November 2007. She has over twenty years
of experience in fund development and has
raised |
approximately
$60 million for charities and educational
institutions in Houston, Texas and surrounding
areas. She has created and completed successful
capital and endowment campaigns and specializes
in community events, galas and fun runs.
She actively volunteered to place environmental
groups in workplace campaigns through the
Environmental Fund for Texas (now Earth
Share of Texas) and has been a long-time
advisory board member for the Endangered
Species Media Project. She served as an
Advisory Board member for Philanthropy World
Magazine. She is currently volunteering
on the Buffalo Bayou documentary project.

Office Manager - Denise
Manderscheid
With over 12 years of experience with
Cliffs Drilling, an international drilling
contractor. Her organization talents and
office management skills lend |
a professional
administrative hand to the fundraising needs
of Memorial Park Conservancy. Duties include
daily runs to the bank and the post office.
Responsible for bookkeeping through Quickbooks,
ordering office supplies and equipment maintenance.

Volunteer Coordinator-
Allison Grady
Allison joined Memorial Park Conservancy
as a volunteer in June of 2007 and was hired
in December as the full-time Volunteer Coordinator.
Allison's duties |
for Memorial
Park Conservancy include building partnerships
with civic, corporate and private volunteers
in our community, working with HPARD for
volunteer events, and acting as a liaison
between civic and recreational activities
for the park. Allison is a graduate of The
University of Houston and holds a degree
in Art History. Prior to volunteering for
the park, Allison participated in numerous
volunteer efforts for the Salvation Army
including working with the Area Command
following tropical storm Allison.
