Croquet

Cycling

The 1.15 mile Picnic Loop at Memorial Park consists of two newly paved lanes winding through the shaded park on the south side of Memorial Drive. The loop is closed to automobile traffic after 3:00 pm Monday-Friday.

Golf

Memorial Park Municipal Golf Course is located at 1001 E. Memorial Loop, Houston, TX 77007. The course is opened year round; closed every Tuesday. 713.862.4033
Summer hours: May through October, 6:30 am to 7:30 pm. Twilight golf begins at 3:00 pm.

Winter hours: November through April, 6:30 am to 5:30 pm. Twilight golf begins at 1:30 pm.

There are four miles of equestrian trails in Memorial Park, primarily located in Reynolds Woods.

Picnics

Picnic tables are located throughout the park. There is a large designated picnic area south of Memorial Drive. Please note the picnic loop is closed to cars after 3 pm on weekdays. Fees for reserving larger areas for group functions range from $25 ($50 deposit) for a child birthday party to $115 ($115 deposit) for commercial events. Large group reservations: 713.845.1003

Rollerblading

Rollerblading is a popular pastime at Memorial Park, especially on the 1.15 mile, paved Picnic Loop, closed to vehicular traffic (after 3 pm on weekdays).

Rugby Field

The rugby field is located west of the baseball diamond, south of Memorial Drive. For league play only.

Running

The Seymour Lieberman Trail runs along Memorial Loop for 3 miles and is open 24 hours a day all year long. This popular crushed granite trail sees almost 3 million runners a year.

The soccer field is located in the northeastern corner of the park, on North Entrance Street. For league play only.

Softball

Swimming

Tennis

Memorial Park Tennis Center, located at 1401 East Memorial Loop, Houston, TX 77007, features 18 lit courts. Reservations are accepted up to one week in advance. 713.867.0440

Open Monday through Friday from 6 am to 9 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 7 am to 6 pm. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

Pricing: M-F before 5:30 p.m. (court off times) $4/court; after 5:30 p.m., weekends and holidays (court prime time) $6/court. Walk-up discount: $0.50.

Volleyball

Sand volleyball courts can be rented for $6/hour. They are located just off Memorial Park Drive, turn left at the second light if coming from the East. For reservations, call 713.845.1218

Walking

In addition to the jogging trails, there are many miles of hike and bike trails located throughout the park, as well as nature trails at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center.
