Dave Mullen was with Merrill Lynch for 26 years.
His first six years in the business were spent
as a successful Financial Advisor, consistently
ranked in the top 10% of his peer group for
doing business. He also managed a high-performing
office while maintaining his client base. He
was evaluated by senior management at Merrill
Lynch and successfully passed the "assessment
center," which is designed to identify
top management talent in the firm. As a result,
Dave gave up his clients and became a full-time
manager in 1986.
His assignments have included Sales Manager
in Denver, Complex Manager (multiple branches)
in Newport Beach, Minneapolis, and Atlanta.
The Atlanta office was a top-five revenue-earning
office nationally. He was a National Sales Manager
in New York. His last position was as the Managing
Director of the Colorado Mountain Complex with
responsibility for six branch offices in Colorado
and Wyoming. In his management tenure with Merrill
Lynch, Dave had direct responsibility for 20
different branches.
During his management assignments Dave has been
recognized four times for being one of Merrill
Lynch's top National Managers and awarded "Regional
Office of the Year" three times. He has
been recognized in every office assignment as
having a top new-advisor training program.
Because of his highly successful training, retaining
and motivating of Financial Advisors, he has
been able to share his methodology with other
managers in the country. Throughout his career,
he has been a national speaker on "Developing
Successful Advisors."
During his management career, Dave has trained
over 500 new Advisors with a success rate significantly
higher than the industry average. His new advisor
success rate after two years was consistently
twice the industry average. He also worked with
a large number of very successful Advisors during
his tenure that included: 70 Advisors that achieved
$1 million or more in annual sales production;
10 Advisors who achieved $2 million in production;
five of Merrills top 30 Advisors; five
who achieved over $4 million in production;
and one Advisor who produced $15 million in
annual sales, the highest in the nation at Merrill
Lynch.
