MEET DAVE MULLEN

Dave Mullen was with Merrill Lynch for 26 years. His first six years in the business were spent as a successful Financial Advisor, consistently ranked in the top 10% of his peer group for doing business. He also managed a high-performing office while maintaining his client base. He was evaluated by senior management at Merrill Lynch and successfully passed the "assessment center," which is designed to identify top management talent in the firm. As a result, Dave gave up his clients and became a full-time manager in 1986.

His assignments have included Sales Manager in Denver, Complex Manager (multiple branches) in Newport Beach, Minneapolis, and Atlanta. The Atlanta office was a top-five revenue-earning office nationally. He was a National Sales Manager in New York. His last position was as the Managing Director of the Colorado Mountain Complex with responsibility for six branch offices in Colorado and Wyoming. In his management tenure with Merrill Lynch, Dave had direct responsibility for 20 different branches.

During his management assignments Dave has been recognized four times for being one of Merrill Lynch's top National Managers and awarded "Regional Office of the Year" three times. He has been recognized in every office assignment as having a top new-advisor training program.

Because of his highly successful training, retaining and motivating of Financial Advisors, he has been able to share his methodology with other managers in the country. Throughout his career, he has been a national speaker on "Developing Successful Advisors."

During his management career, Dave has trained over 500 new Advisors with a success rate significantly higher than the industry average. His new advisor success rate after two years was consistently twice the industry average. He also worked with a large number of very successful Advisors during his tenure that included: 70 Advisors that achieved $1 million or more in annual sales production; 10 Advisors who achieved $2 million in production; five of Merrill’s top 30 Advisors; five who achieved over $4 million in production; and one Advisor who produced $15 million in annual sales, the highest in the nation at Merrill Lynch.
