Sooner Send-Off Celebrates OU Students from Houston

More than 100 people gathered for the first Sooner Send-Off event Tuesday, July 23 at the Williams Tower. The event, organized by OU alum Steve Dolman of Hines Management and co-sponsored by The OU Club of Houston and the OU President's Associates program, celebrated OU students from the Houston area. That group included The Club's 2013 scholarship recipients, Emily Akins of Clear Lake High School and Claire Switzer--a distant relative of former University of Oklahoma head football coach Barry Switzer--from Katy Taylor High School.

"We're very pleased to have this opportunity to recognize the great group of current students attending OU from Houston," said Dolman, a 1985 graduate of the Price School of Business. "In addition, we also had a number of high school students at the event and I hope their first taste of Sooner Pride is one they won't soon forget."
