BOREN
AWARDED GUARDIAN OF SMALL BUSINESS
AWARD
WASHINGTON D.C.
U.S. Representative Dan Boren was honored with
a Guardian of Small Business award
from the National Federation of Independent
Business (NFIB) this week. NFIB, the nations
leading small-business association, awarded
Boren the honor for his outstanding voting record
on behalf of Americas small-business owners
in the 111th Congress. Boren received the award
with a perfect vote rating of 100 with NFIB.
It is an honor to receive
this award on behalf of the small business owners
of eastern Oklahoma, Boren said. Small
businesses are the driving force of our states
economy. They create jobs, spur local development,
and demonstrate the innovation that sets our
nation apart in a global economy.
NFIBs voting record tallied
7 key votes in the U.S. House of Representatives
taken during the 111th Congress (2009 and 2010
sessions). Issues ranged from credit card regulation
and small business tax relief to energy and
health care policy.
In the 111th Congress, Representative
Boren proved that he is a champion of small
business. The Guardian of Small Business Award
is a token of the deep appreciation that small
business owners have for elected officials who
promote and protect their right to own, operate,
and grow their businesses, said NFIB President
Dan Danner.
Boren has also been recognized
this year by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the
Oklahoma Veterans Council, and the Colorectal
Cancer Coalition for his voting record and/or
service.
